Sherman, IL — February 19, 2019 — Today at the Sherman Village Board meeting, Sherman Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) presented a check for $3,650 to Sherman Police Department toward the purchase of two new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
“This donation, from the members of the Chamber, permits us to give back to our community,” said Sean Bull, President of SACC.
“The police officer is many times first on the scene and when it comes to cardiac emergencies every second counts. This donation will permit the department to purchase two new AEDs replacing outdated equipment that are over 10 years old. The fundraiser challenge sponsored by the Sherman Area Chamber of Commerce and the donations received from local businesses made this project a success” said Chief of Police Craig Bangert.
Village President, Trevor J. Clatfelter stated to the Village Trustees and those present at the Village Board meeting “the Village appreciates the Chamber’s effort to make our communities a safer place to live”. SACC is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to advocate, educate and provide resources for growing our communities. Visit us at www.shermanilchamber.org.
